Ric Elias' company Red Ventures published more false information about credit scoring. In a previous matter, Red Ventures repeated Credit Score Myth 2, the one about employers that has turned into a big joke. Ricardo Elias is out of control. You falsely wrote, "According to the FICO scoring model, your credit utilization ratio accounts for 30% of your credit score."

That is not true because any such ratio is only part of a category of factors that accounts for 30%. The category, Amounts Owed, consists of

• The amount owed on all accounts
• The amount owed on different types of accounts
• How many accounts have balances
• Credit utilization ratio on revolving accounts
• How much of the installment loan amounts is still owed, compared with the original loan amount.

So, if what you are saying were true, then the other factors in the category would all be weighted at zero. That, of course, would make no sense.

Worse, there are at least four people involved in the article in question. I tried to contact you about it.

What is your correction policy?
