Credit score range and scale in mortgage lending, Part 1

Revelation to blabbermouths: The highest is not 850 and the lowest is not 300

| By Greg Fisher

Just in time for Halloween, 2021, here is something that will scare the living daylights out of blabbermouths.

The highest credit score in mortgage lending is 844. The highest credit score in mortgage lending is not 850.

The lowest credit score in mortgage lending is 309. The lowest credit score in mortgage lending is not 300.

This is nothing new.

Mortgage loan standards company Fannie Mae indicates these credit score versions

National credit bureau documents indicate that the scales of FICO credit scores used in that industry are

"Minimum Experian/FICO Risk Model v2": 320
"Maximum Experian/FICO Risk Model v2": 844

and

"FICO Risk Score, Classic 04": 309-839.

The scale of the Experian-based FICO credit score used in mortgage lending is 320 to 844, so the range is 524. #2009a

The scale of the Transunion-based FICO credit score used in mortgage lending is 309 to 839, so the range is 530.

Poor Equifax

Poor Equifax. #n4048858000

A document in the internet domain sba.gov of the U.S. Small Business Administration indicates Equifax "FICO SCORE V5" "334 - 818."

The scale of the Equifax-based FICO credit score used in mortgage lending is 334 to 818, so the range is 484.

Oh, Equifax. Where is the information about the Equifax mortgage lending credit score scale? What are you doing, Mr. Begor? What is wrong? #n1501

All this is a revelation to blabbermouths.
